About GRS

At GRS, based in Grodås, a small town in Hornindal, Norway, our journey began with a vision for innovation and excellence in the shooting and hunting industry. What started as a local business has now grown into an internationally recognized brand, driven by curiosity, passion, and entrepreneurship. Learn how our rifle stocks, built with precision and expertise, can enhance your shooting experience.

Our Beginnings

In 1983, Oddvin and Anne-Lise Haugen founded Grodås Møbler AS (Grodås Furniture AS) in the basement of their home. The business quickly expanded, leading to the establishment of a dedicated factory in 1985. Known for high-quality craftsmanship, Oddvin’s passion for efficient solutions shaped the company’s ethos. His dedication was passed down to his sons, Håvard and Oscar, who worked at the factory after school, learning the core principles of entrepreneurship.

A Passion for Shooting and Hunting

Håvard and Oscar developed a love for shooting and hunting early on. Håvard bought his first guns and ammo magazine at the age of 11 in 1985, sparking an interest that still drives their work today. Oscar remains an avid hunter, shooter, and fisherman, while Håvard has focused more on shooting. “He was never bitten by the big-game hunting bug that afflicts me,” Oscar jokes.

After college, Håvard joined the family business, diving into CNC programming and machining in the late 1990s. CNC technology revolutionized the industry, offering nearly limitless possibilities for innovation.

Inspired by Nature

We use our extensive knowledge of Norwegian nature to develop our shooting tools, just as we choose our daily tools. Our headquarters and factory are located uphill from Grodås, nestled in the wild. From our windows, we overlook Hornindal Lake, the deepest in Europe, just a stone’s throw from Nordfjord, where Vikings once sailed their mighty ships. We hunt in all seasons, and we fish in most. At GRS, we believe that good quality will take you there and back; poor quality may get you there, but it won’t bring you home.
